BRET MAVERICK with James Garner as his character from the old series MAVERICK this time though, there was no Bart, it was just Bret (although Jack Kelly did make a cameo appearence as Bret in the final episode)

1st & Ten was an HBO sitcom about a football team that ran for believe it or not 6 seasons (1984-1991) and starred Delta Burke, Jason Beghe and OJ Simpson (before he became a murderer). Delta Burke left this series in it's third season to work full-time on the network series "Designing Women" (for CBS) which was becoming a huge success.

Despite airing in syndication early in the 90's during the now-infamous OJ Simpson trial, this show is virtually forgotten today, and I doubt even anybody at HBO remembers it. The on-going joke is that the football team is owned by a female. Shanna Reed filled this void for a period of time after Burke left the show.
imdb says 1st & 10 ran for 7 seasons (but that's cable-TV seasons) which = 10 to 12 episodes a season. The series had 80 episodes.

Anyway, I think 1st & 10: The Complete Series, was the first complete tv series box set I ever saw thrown in the "bargain" bin at Walmart! Was it that bad a show, that nobody wants?

RE 1st and Ten: "The Complete Series" is edited, and suffers significantly as a result. I actually enjoyed the show.

there was a show on ABC in the 90s-it was a western called THE YOUNG OUTLAWS or something. It was another failed attempt to revive the western.

And CBS had a western in the 90s that ran for 2 seasons called PARADISE then in the second season the name was changed to THE GUNS OF PARADISE and I readd at the time they were gonna put in more action; but they never did.

According to wikipedia it was 6 seasons, but in either case we are both close.

In the early 90's Ann Margaret starred in a series called "Four Corners" that was heavily promoted as one of the most anticipated new shows of the season on CBS, but by the time it got to air it was a huge disaster, ratings were poor and it was canceled after about two episodes.

It was a soap opera produced by David Jacobs (Knot's Landing) and focused on Margret's character trying to save her family ranch from developers.

I guess the series later aired on LIFETIME under a different name as a mini-series. I recall watching this and liking it, but then it just vanished.

Checking In with Marla Gibbs

That idiot John Stamos had a show called "Jake in Progress" that was a short lived disaster!

Checking In was pretty good but they never gave it a chance!

I can't believe Checking In is nowhere on youtube when you have shows from 1972 on there. Checking In was on CBS in 1981 and reran during the summer and it's still nowhere to be found
