Default Why has daytime TV become so controversial?

https://time.com/5953024/talk-show-tv-controversies/

Daytime television used to be tame part of the day. But between Sharon Osbourne's The Talk exit over a heated discussion on race, Dr. Oz guest-hosting Jeopardy! and The View's Meghan McCain apologizing for endorsing then-President Trump calling coronavirus "the Chinese virus," daytime is suffering from a talking head crisis.

Because left wing politics has taken over all of America.

If you're not a liberal you are hounded to death by the woke crowd.

Before the year 2000, Daytime TV was more than popular & was at its very best

I'm just waiting for Maury Povich's next hair-cutting binge. One woman had the most incredibly beautiful long hair anyone could imagine -- lopped off, all we have left is the 'before' photo. Why does Povich think women must bob their hair?

Daytime TV used to be full of game shows and soap operas as well as occasional network reruns. NBC attempted to break that mold a few times in the 60s and 70s with a country music show Swinging Country, a variety show with Pat Boone, America Alive with Jack Linkletter and one of the biggest daytime flops, a talk show with David Letterman.

Nowadays, there are sensationalistic talk shows and court shows on Daytime TV. The only game shows left are on CBS, The Price is Right and Let's Make a Deal.

I go back to when Daytime talk included Mike Douglas and Art Linkletter.

I blame it in part to the left's insistence upon using the media as a "litter box" of sorts, leaving little presents for others to cover for them.

But even more so, the various factions dividing America all seem to crave the same thing, "being heard". Often times it seems not so much important which side of a conflict prevails, so long as each side walks away feeling they have made their priorities "known".

So, the creep into daytime is only logical, as everyone seeks their soapbox.
