I just dubbed a 4 hour tape onto a dvd. There is something else I would like to add to the disc from another VHS tape. Can it be done?

Not if you already finalized the disc. And it also depends on how much free space is left on the disc if it's not finalized.

I didn't go to the menu and press finalize, all I did was record the footage from VHS to DVD. When it ended all I did was hit stop on the machine. I played the disc back to see if it recorded. I hope that helps.

If there's any notation on your machine letting you know that there's time remaining (blank space) on the disc, you should be able to add more.

Well I taped the dvd in EP which is allows about 6 hours worth of taping. I only used 4 1/2 hours. Sorry for being so inquisitive, but this is a new toy for me.

Putting more than 4 hours on a single discs usually results in poor quality. I'd not do that again.

I almost always record in SP. The only exception is for football games, which usually run 3 to 3 1/2 hours, which I'll do it LP....never in EP..it's a waste and blank DVDs are so cheap to buy.

So how do you add something to a disc when you already recorded something on it? For instance, how do I record something new from the point when my last dubbing finished? Make sense?

Just pressing record when you want to should do the trick.

Shouldn't I play the disc to the end of the program I last recorded? Won't that record over what I already dubbed?

You have to knowingly erase the "RW" disc. And a "R" cannot be erased. |

I've found the user's manual to be extremely helpful, FYI.
