Watching The Wheels
(Lennon) People say I’m crazy doing what I’m doing Well, they give me all kinds of warnings to save me from ruin When I say that I’m okay, well they look at me kind of strange “Surely you’re not happy now you no long playing the game” People say I’m lazy, dreaming my life away Well, they give me all kinds of advice designed to enlighten me When I tell them that I’m doing fine watching shadows on the wall, “Don’t you miss the big time, boy, you’re no longer on the ball” I’m just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round I really love to watch them roll No longer riding on the merry-go-round I just had to let it go People asking questions, lost in confusion Well, I tell them there’s no problem, only solutions Well, they shake their heads and look at me as if I’ve lost my mind I tell them there’s no hurry, I’m just sitting here doing time I’m just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round I really love to watch them roll No longer riding on the merry-go-round I just had to let it go I just had to let it go I just had to let it go |

Autobiography of a Nation ~ Thursday
Write these words back down inside We have burned their villages and all the people in them died We adopt their customs and everything they say we steal All the dreams they had we kill Still we all sleep sound tonight Is this what you wanted to hear? We erased all their images and dance And replaced them with borders and flags At the top of this timeline you'll remember This is the lipstick on the collar And in my own life I've seen it in the mirror sometimes at the cost of others hopes So write these words back down inside That's where you need it the most and without conviction of heart you will never feel it at all Yeah, we all dance to the same beat when we we're marching Yeah, the TV tells us everything we need to know And this scene is painting in all the fashions of the moment And history is all the same Everything you say you stole Every dream you dream you bought |

Some are like water, some are like the heat Some are a melody and some are the beat. Sooner or later they all will be gone. Why don't they stay young? It's so hard to get old without a cause. I don't want to perish like a fleeing horse. Youth is like diamonds in the sun, And diamonds are forever. Forever young, I want to be forever young. Do you really want to live forever? |

Disturbed
Breathe You will realease your life Forgetting what's forsaken the reason why You are alone again You will believe the lie Judging from what you've taken You breathe, alive You are alone again From the heart of darkness You call to me Spirit racing on There is nothing I can do For you are next to no one You will release your life Joining with the goddamned world Of the dead and the lonely You'll never leave alive Now do you think you're too damn good For the killing kind You will begin to cry Hearing the silence breaking You breathe, alive But you are alone again From the heart of darkness You call to me Spirit racing on There is nothing I can do For you are next to no one You will release your life Joining with the goddamned world Of the dead and the lonely You'll never leave alive Now do you think you're too damn good For the killing kind You will release your life forgetting what's forsaken You breathe, alive You are alone again You will release your life Joining with the goddamned world Of the dead and the lonely You'll never leave alive Now do you think you're too damn good For the killing kind Nothing I can do ^ ^ I ![]() |

Can't Take That Away
(Mariah, Dianne Warren) They can say anything they want to say Try to bring me down But I will not allow Anyone to succeed Hanging clouds over me And they can try hard to make me feel That I don't matter at all But I refuse to falter In what I believe Or lose faith in my dreams CHORUS: 'Cause there's a light in me That shines brightly They can try But they can't take that away from me From me They can do anything they want to you lf you let them in But they won't ever win If you cling to your pride And just push them aside See I have learned there's an inner peace I own Something in my soul That they cannot possess So I won't be afraid And darkness will fade 'Cause there's a light in me That shines brightly They can try But they can't take that away from me No They can't take this Precious love l'll always have inside me Certainly the Lord will guide me Where I need to go They can say anything they want to say Try to break me down But I won't face the ground I will rise steadily Sailing out of their reach Oh Lord They do try hard to make me feel That I don't matter at all But I refuse to falter In what I believe Or lose faith in my dreams 'Cause there's a light in me that shines brightly They can try But they can't take that away from me From me |

Love Like Blood
(Killing Joke) We must play our lives like soldiers in the field But life is short i'm running faster all the time Strength and beauty destined to decay So cut the rose in full bloom 'til the fearless come and the act is done A love like blood, a love like blood Everyday through all frustration and despair Love and hate fight with burning hearts 'til legends live and man is god again (and self-preservation rules the day no more) We must dream of promised lands and fields That never fade in season As we move towards no end we learn to die Red tears are shed on grey |

"Masterpiece"
(Carolyn Dawn Johnson/Kye Fleming/Mary Ann Kennedy) There were forty little houses in a place they called High River And everyone knew Tim since the day he was born He was a little different Some might call it slow But when Nellie moved to town She saw his heart of gold They found each other and never spent another day apart Whoever would have dreamed In his quiet eyes she'd find the piece To make her life complete Oh you could say it was a work of art Like someone took a brush and painted there hearts Together they made such a beautiful thing And oh if there was anything that they could do right It was painting love in the perfect light So we could see That love is a masterpiece Yeah Well Tim always had a little trouble with letters and numbers So Nellie paid the bills and read all the mail No one worked harder for miles around Tim was the best farmhand and Nellie was proud A year went by of saving their nickels and dimes They had a little boy They named him Daniel And he became there pride and joy Oh you could say it was a work of art Like someone took a brush and painted there hearts Together they made such a beautiful thing And oh if there was anything that they could do right It was painting love in the perfect light So we could see that love is a masterpiece Everybody said that they were so close to heaven That they didn't have far to go Somehow it all made sense that they all went together That night on that dark road Oh you could say it was a work of art Like someone took a brush and painted their hearts Together they made such a beautiful thing And oh if there was anything that they could do right It was painting love in the perfect light So we could see That love is a masterpeice Yeah, yeah, yeah Love is a masterpeice Yeah Love is a masterpeice Love is a masterpeice Love is a masterpeice Hooh Love is a masterpiece Love is a masterpeice |

"Am I The Only One (Who's Ever Felt This Way)"
(Maria McKee) There is no good reason I should have to be so alone I'm smothered by this emptiness Lord, I wish I was made of stone Like a fool I lent my soul to love And it paid me back in change God help me, am I the only one Who's ever felt this way A heart that's worn and weathered Would know better than to fight But I wore mine like a weapon Played out love like a crime And it wrung me out and strung me out And it hung years on my face God help me, am I the only one Who's ever felt this way Now my sense of humor needs a break I see a shadow in the mirror And she's laughin' through her tears One more smile's all I can fake There is a wound inside me And it's bleeding like a flood There's times when I see a light ahead Hope is not enough As another night surrounds me And it pounds me like a wave God help me, am I the only one Who's ever felt this way God help me, am I the only one Who's ever felt this way |

Opinion ~ Kurt Cobain from KAOS Radio in Olympia, Washington with Calvin Johnson.
(This really isnt lyrics, it's more of an interview with a song at the end...but I think its cool to read.) Calvin - Kurt Cobain's here. You know, Kurt Cobain from Aberdeen. (pause) (To Kurt) What's going on Baby? Kurt- Not a damn thing. Calvin - I see. Kurt - How are you? Calvin- Pretty groovy. Kurt - Am I allowed to ask you that? Calvin - Umm, not really. Kurt - Oh. Calvin- Umm, I was, uh, I was fine. I was just hanging out here on the Boy Meets Girl Show, and, umm, you called up and said, "I wanna play some songs." Kurt- 'Tis true. Calvin- So I said, "Rockin' good news." Kurt - Bloody brilliant! Calvin- So, uhh, what's going on. You got some new tunes? You gonna share 'em with us or what? Kurt - Yes, I'm gonna share some new tunes with you. Calvin - Cool. Kurt - And everyone else. Umm, I just wrote most of the lyrics this evening. Calvin - On the...In the car on the way up here? Kurt- While I was driving with one foot. Calvin - UH HUH?! Kurt - I wanted it to be as spontaneous as possible, you know? So, umm. Umm. Yeah, that's what I did. I just, thought I'd just come here and say "Hi." Calvin- Let 'er rip. Kurt - OK, (pause) uhh, this song's called "Opinion." (Kurt performs "Opinion") Congratulations, you have won It's a year's subscription of bad puns And a maice shift story of concern And to set it up before it burns My opinions. Mmmmm mmmmm And there seems to be a problem here The scale of emotions seems to clear You rise and fall like Wall Street stock And they have an effect on our peace talks Our opinions. Mmmmm mmmmm My opinions. Mmmmm mmmmm Congratulations, you have won It's a year's subscription of bad puns And a maice shift story of concern And to set it up before it burns Our opinions. Mmmmm mmmm Your opinions. Mmmmm mmmm Kurt - Don't you think that song sounds like Taxman? |

Rocky Mountain High (Denver/Taylor)
He was born in the summer of his 27th year, coming home to a place he'd never been before. He left yesterday behind him, you might say he was born again, you might say he found a key for every door. When he first came to the mountains, his life was far away on the road and hanging by a song. But the strings already broken and he doesn't really care, it keeps changing fast, and it don't last for long. And the Colorado Rocky Mountain high, I've seen it raining fire in the sky. The shadows from the starlight are softer than a lullaby. Rocky Mountain high, Colorado. Rocky Mountain high. He climbed cathedral mountains, he saw silver clouds below, he saw everything as far as you can see. And they say that he got crazy once and he tried to touch the sun, and he lost a friend, but kept the memory. Now he walks in quiet solitude, the forest and the streams, seeking grace in every step he takes. His sight is turned inside himself, to try and understand the serenity of a clear blue mountain lake. And the Colorado Rocky Mountain high, I've seen it raining fire in the sky. You can talk to God and listen to the casual reply. Rocky Mountain high, Colorado. Rocky Mountain high. Now his life is full of wonder, but his heart still knows some fear, of a simple thing he can not comprehend. Why they try to tear the mountains down to bring in a couple more, more people, more scars upon the land. And the Colorado Rocky Mountain high, I've seen it raining fire in the sky. I know he'd be a poor man if he never saw an eagle fly, Rocky Mountain high, the Colorado Rocky Mountain high, I've seen it raining fire in the sky. Friends around the campfire and everybody's high Rocky Mountain high, Colorado. Rocky Mountain high. Rocky Mountain high, Colorado. Rocky Mountain high. |

"Once You've Loved Somebody"
(Bruce Miller/Thom Mchugh) I should go out tonight Get on with my life Break these chains of solitude With a little luck and a little help I might even find myself In the arms of someone new Once you've loved somebody It ain't that easy to do Once you've loved somebody Like I loved you Look what you've gone and done You've ruined everything for anyone Who tries to steal this heart away I can't get you off of my mind I've tried to tell myself a million times A little time is all it takes Once you've loved somebody It ain't that easy to do Once you've loved somebody Like I loved you I gave you everything that I had to give I don't know if I can go that far again Once you've loved somebody It ain't that easy to do Once you've loved somebody Like I loved you Once you've loved somebody It ain't that easy to do Once you've loved somebody Like I loved you |

All Things Must Pass
(Harrison) Sunrise doesn't last all morning A cloudburst doesn't last all day Seems my love is up and has left you with no warning It's not always going to be this grey All things must pass All things must pass away Sunset doesn't last all evening A mind can blow those clouds away After all this, my love is up and must be leaving It's not always going to be this grey All things must pass All things must pass away All things must pass None of life's strings can last So, I must be on my way And face another day Now the darkness only stays the night-time In the morning it will fade away Daylight is good at arriving at the right time It's not always going to be this grey All things must pass All things must pass away All things must pass All things must pass away |

Cloud 9
(Harrison) Have my love It fits you like a glove Join my dream, tell me yes Bail out should there be a mess The pieces you don't need are mine Take my time I'll show you cloud nine Take my smile and my heart They were yours from the start The pieces to omit are mine Have my love Use it while it does you good Share my highs but the times That it hurts pay no mind The pieces you don't need are mine I'll see you there on cloud nine Take my hope Maybe even share a joke If there's good to be shown You may make it all your own And if you want to quit that's fine While you're out looking for cloud nine |

Like A Rolling Stone
(Dylan) Once upon a time you dressed so fine You threw the bums a dime in your prime, didn't you? People'd call, say, "Beware doll, you're bound to fall" You thought they were all kiddin' you You used to laugh about Everybody that was hangin' out Now you don't talk so loud Now you don't seem so proud About having to be scrounging for your next meal. How does it feel How does it feel To be without a home Like a complete unknown Like a rolling stone? You've gone to the finest school all right, Miss Lonely But you know you only used to get juiced in it And nobody has ever taught you how to live on the street And now you find out you're gonna have to get used to it You said you'd never compromise With the mystery tramp, but now you realize He's not selling any alibis As you stare into the vacuum of his eyes And ask him do you want to make a deal? How does it feel How does it feel To be on your own With no direction home Like a complete unknown Like a rolling stone? You never turned around to see the frowns on the jugglers and the clowns When they all come down and did tricks for you You never understood that it ain't no good You shouldn't let other people get your kicks for you You used to ride on the chrome horse with your diplomat Who carried on his shoulder a Siamese cat Ain't it hard when you discover that He really wasn't where it's at After he took from you everything he could steal. How does it feel How does it feel To be on your own With no direction home Like a complete unknown Like a rolling stone? Princess on the steeple and all the pretty people They're drinkin', thinkin' that they got it made Exchanging all kinds of precious gifts and things But you'd better lift your diamond ring, you'd better pawn it babe You used to be so amused At Napoleon in rags and the language that he used Go to him now, he calls you, you can't refuse When you got nothing, you got nothing to lose You're invisible now, you got no secrets to conceal. How does it feel How does it feel To be on your own With no direction home Like a complete unknown Like a rolling stone? |

Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum
(Dylan) Tweedle-dee Dum and Tweedle-dee Dee They're throwing knives into the tree Two big bags of dead man's bones Got their noses to the grindstones Living in the Land of Nod Trustin' their fate to the Hands of God They pass by so silently Tweedle-dee Dum and Tweedle-dee Dee Well, they're going to the country, they're gonna retire They're taking a streetcar named Desire Looking in the window at the pecan pie Lot of things they'd like they would never buy Neither one gonna turn and run They're making a voyage to the sun "His Master's voice is calling me," Says Tweedle-dee Dum to Tweedle-dee Dee Tweedle-dee Dee and Tweedle-dee Dum All that and more and then some They walk among the stately trees They know the secrets of the breeze Tweedle-dee Dum said to Tweedle-dee Dee "Your presence is obnoxious to me." They're like babies sittin' on a woman's knee Tweedle-dee Dum and Tweedle-dee Dee Well, the rain beating down on my windowpane I got love for you and it's all in vain Brains in the pot, they're beginning to boil They're dripping with garlic and olive oil Tweedle-dee Dee - he's on his hands and his knees Saying, "Throw me somethin', Mister, please." "What's good for you is good for me," Says Tweedle-dee Dum to Tweedle-dee Dee Well, they're living in a happy harmony Tweedle-dee Dum and Tweedle-dee Dee They're one day older and a dollar short They've got a parade permit and a police escort They're lying low and they're makin' hay They seem determined to go all the way They run a brick and tile company Tweedle-dee Dum and Tweedle-dee Dee Well a childish dream is a deathless need And a noble truth is a sacred creed My pretty baby, she's lookin' around She's wearin' a multi-thousand dollar gown Tweedle-dee Dee is a lowdown, sorry old man Tweedle-dee Dum, he'll stab you where you stand "I've had too much of your company," Says, Tweedle-dee Dum to Tweedle-dee Dee |

Visions of Johanna
(Dylan) Ain't it just like the night to play tricks when you're tryin' to be so quiet? We sit here stranded, though we're all doin' our best to deny it And Louise holds a handful of rain, temptin' you to defy it Lights flicker from the opposite loft In this room the heat pipes just cough The country music station plays soft But there's nothing, really nothing to turn off Just Louise and her lover so entwined And these visions of Johanna that conquer my mind In the empty lot where the ladies play blindman's bluff with the key chain And the all-night girls they whisper of escapades out on the "D" train We can hear the night watchman click his flashlight Ask himself if it's him or them that's really insane Louise, she's all right, she's just near She's delicate and seems like the mirror But she just makes it all too concise and too clear That Johanna's not here The ghost of 'lectricity howls in the bones of her face Where these visions of Johanna have now taken my place Now, little boy lost, he takes himself so seriously He brags of his misery, he likes to live dangerously And when bringing her name up He speaks of a farewell kiss to me He's sure got a lotta gall to be so useless and all Muttering small talk at the wall while I'm in the hall How can I explain? Oh, it's so hard to get on And these visions of Johanna, they kept me up past the dawn Inside the museums, Infinity goes up on trial Voices echo this is what salvation must be like after a while But Mona Lisa musta had the highway blues You can tell by the way she smiles See the primitive wallflower freeze When the jelly-faced women all sneeze Hear the one with the mustache say, "Jeeze I can't find my knees" Oh, jewels and binoculars hang from the head of the mule But these visions of Johanna, they make it all seem so cruel The peddler now speaks to the countess who's pretending to care for him Sayin', "Name me someone that's not a parasite and I'll go out and say a prayer for him" But like Louise always says "Ya can't look at much, can ya man?" As she, herself, prepares for him And Madonna, she still has not showed We see this empty cage now corrode Where her cape of the stage once had flowed The fiddler, he now steps to the road He writes ev'rything's been returned which was owed On the back of the fish truck that loads While my conscience explodes The harmonicas play the skeleton keys and the rain And these visions of Johanna are now all that remain |
