I think they need the old stars because they need to build up there audience. They figure they remember the "Glory Days" of NBC with Michael J. Fox so they need somebody to bring eyeballs to the sets.

NBC can't afford to completely rely on emerging talent, their in a desperate state they have depend on known talent. Even if Sean Saves the World and MJF bomb it was a safer route to take. Especially if the two shows succeed and bring eyes to other shows on the Peacock Network, goodness knows NBC needs a good shot in the arm.

Probably best schedule they have had in years. Hopefully the new shows get pretty good ratings.

Welcome to the Family has a pretty similar premise to the 1983 McLean Stephenson starrer Condo. A white family and a Latino family, there kids hook-up and the white daughter gets knocked up, the families irritate each other and hilarity ensues!" Coincidentally, the new show airs Thursdays @ 8:30 while Condo mainly aired Thursdays @ 8 during its brief run.

The Million Second Quiz two week event starts tonight. Will it be the next Millionaire?

I liked The Million Second Quiz, gameplay is good and Ryan Seacrest isn't annoying like he was on Idol. And the Welcome to the Family pilot is available on demand, I watched it and thought it was pretty good. I just hope being paired with the incompatible Parks and Recreation doesn't hurt it, WTTF deserves to have Michael J. Fox as a lead-in.

I wasn't originally going to watch The Blacklist, couldn't stand James Spader on The Practice and stayed away from Boston Legal because of his character. But I ended up trying The Blacklist because of all the good buzz it was getting. It's not bad, worth coming back for. It's still my 3rd choice though in the timeslot after Castle and Hostages.

I'm not normally a drama guy, but I do watch The Mentalist and Person of Interest on occasion, and have watched Boston Legal at times when it was on. Spader is terrific, but he usually is IMO. The female lead is cute, and the other supporting actors show potential as well.

The Blacklist has a full-season pickup of 22 episodes.

All the NBC comedies are pure trash right now, besides Park And Recreation and Community need to end their series by May 2014, they both aired too long.

Or you could just not watch them if you don't like them?

Ironside and Welcome To The Family canned. Chicago PD and Community are the replacements starting in Jan. Repeats and specials will air through the end of the year.

All of the NBC comedies (especially Parks & Rec) are doing terribly this season. Should NBC cancel every comedy they have in May of 2014 and become a drama-only network?

I would be very surprised if they did that. The only network that has done that in recent memory (ever?) is The CW...and even they have Whose Line now.

Also, "especially Parks & Rec" is inaccurate. It did a lot better than Sean Saves the World & Michael J. Fox in its most recent airing.

The only show I watch on NBC right now is Grim. The dramas are doing better than the comedies.
