Default How Did Tom Hanks Get So Big?

But not the other guy?

I used to love this show! But I always wondered why Tom Hanks became so huge, and left the other guy in the dust. I feel bad for him. Is/Was Hanks that much better of an actor?

Talent + Luck. He makes really good choices in the roles he takes. Scolari has a fine career on television but was never able to make the jump to movies. It's really, really hard for television actors to make the transition.

Yeah, especially back then. And yeah, I agree, luck definitely had partly to do with it I suppose.

I absolutely love Tom Hanks so I'm going to be biased and say that it's due to his talent.
