Plus, Jeff Zucker putting The Jay Leno Show on Weeknights at 10/9 Central was RIDICULOUS!

and most of all, Joan Rivers being barred from The Tonight Show since the late 80's until Leno's retirement....again in 2014 after Rivers got a deal with FOX for her Late Night Talk Show which didn't last long, but Thank GOD she had her own Daytime Talk Show from 1989-1993 and even won a Daytime Emmy Award and the fallout between her and Carson was sad

Thank GOD for Jimmy Fallon bringing her BACK on The Tonight Show after the ban was LIFTED!

Ever since Carson stepped down from The Tonight Show in 1992, The Tonight Show Died, IMO

also, Howard Stern hates Leno

Joan Rivers being barred from The Tonight Show was Carson's doing. It was John's fault in the first place. She betrayed him. And Howard Stern is a jerk.

NBC deciding to cancel LA Law at the last minute without giving it a proper finale.

Not giving Buck Rogers in the 25th century a proper sendoff although later on they did do MFTV movie titled The Return of Cain it still should've had a decent ending.

I'll do you one better, I think the show should've had a third season. NBC was a cellar dweller they could of done it, trim some budget or at the very least do a season consisting of 3-4 telefilms.

Cancelling Bret Maverick and Flamingo Road in 82. Maverick got decent ratings. Flamingo had initial success, both shows were up against a powerhouse lineup on ABC. Flamingo Road was the closest NBC got to having their own megasoap like CBS and ABC.

Planning on the show Snit and pulling it at the eleventh hour because one of the characters was gay. But then again, NBC came a long way. 22 years later, Will and Grace premiered where one big the main characters is gay

They did one called The Return Of Cain which was good and I think giving the show a better budget and ditching the whole search for the 13th planet story would've improved the show.

That show was trash. Every week was the same plot, trying to make amends to someone he did wrong. Boring and Lame. Hate shows with limited flexibility in plot.

I tried watching that show because I liked Jason Lee in the Kevin Smith movies, but I didn't last half a season.

It wasn't really Joan's fault. Joan and her manager (her husband Edgar) had gotten word from sources at NBC that she wasn't even on the short-list to replace Johnny when he retired and that in fact no woman was. In fact, she had gotten word that NBC had no plans for her after his retirement. So she and Edgar started looking for another job, and she got offered the show on Fox, and a huge salary to boost so why wouldn't she take it? She did call Johnny to inform him but he hung up on her and never spoke to her again.

NBC was right not to have Joan succeed Johnny for the ratings would've been awful. Her Fox show bombed and Johnny got the last laugh. There's a difference between leaving to do their own thing versus leaving to be a direct competitor. Of course Johnny felt betrayed. And that Edgar was a piece of work he nearly killed her career before he killed himself.

Joan Rivers' Talk Show may have failed on Late Night TV, but she certainly had success on Daytime in syndication and she even won a Daytime Emmy Award for Favorite Talk Show Host beating out the likes of the Fragul Gourmet, Donahue and even Oprah

and so, it all worked out
