With Green Acres still on weeknights, the METV's 8/7c to 11/10c weeknight lineup will still consist of 4 sitcoms from the 1960s as of this moment.

The release reference to Barnaby Jones:

"The hit 1970s series marked a comeback for former Beverly Hillbillies star Buddy Ebsen".

comeback?

Matlock was the comeback series for Andy Griffith, Diagnosis Murder was the comeback series for Dick Van Dyke but Barnaby Jones was Buddy Ebsen's next series. He was on the Beverly Hillbillies through the 70-71 TV season (concluding a 9 year run)and returned with his next series in the 72-73 season (midseason), he wasn't away long enough for it to be a comeback.

Not everybody has cable or satelitte and don't get the Insp or Encore Western channel Metv is a broadcast channel so Metv is only place people who like Western can watch the Western shows.

Same with MASH, right? Isn't ME the only broadcast net it's on? (not including any local syndication)

I pulled up the PST schedule and I didn't see The Flintstones on it at all. Doesn't bother me either way but I wonder if it was a last minute change or something. As long as they keep Leave it to Beaver, I'm okay with whatever changes they make.

With so many complete series of classic TV shows having been released on DVD, I'm surprised that these retro TV channels still have a fairly large audience. I guess not everyone buys DVD's. I'm a DVD buyer/collector and I have DVD's of most of my favorite shows so I seldom watch the retro channels anymore.

The thing that annoys me most about MeTV and these other retro channels is the crap they pull with the programs, they edit them and time compress/speed them up so they can fit in more and more commercials. And then of course there's Antenna TV with their infamous credit crunches, I'm not a fan of those either but learned to live with it.

DVD's aren't always perfect, sometimes episodes are edited, usually because of music reasons, but I still prefer to watch DVD's instead of the retro channels.

Thanks for replying to this. I been saying that since I been on here that not everyone has cable and its the only channel they can watch Metv. I'm done wasting my breathe on this subject.

I am ready for Hogan's Hero's to have a rest. It has been at the 10 pm time longer than the show was on the air.

I was looking at the schedule for This TV, and noticed that Bat Masterson is on the schedule.

When the show arrives on MeTV, does this mean that it will be gone from This TV? Or will the show still stay on This TV?

Iíll miss 77 Sunset Strip for this exact reason: itís not on DVD. While I enjoy Barnaby Jones I already have it on DVD.

I used to buy DVDs but I stopped. It got too expensive.

It doesn't start until September 30th.

I'm surprised 77 Sunset Strip has yet to be released on DVD because it still seems to have a fairly decent fan base.

I was thinking about ordering the Barnaby Jones complete series DVD but then I read a review from DVD Talk that says the season 2 through 8 episodes are edited versions so I decided not to buy it.

Highway Patrol is also on This TV. It's mostly used as filler between movies, along with Sea Hunt, at 4 am.
