Thumbs up Mill Creek to release Roseanne on DVD!

http://tvshowsondvd.com/news/70s-Press-Release/15349 Mill Creek will release several shows, inc. Roseanne, on DVD...supposedly uncut for the 1st season!

I haven't really used this forum in the past couple of years, but for some reason I decided to check it out today. I was very excited to read that the series will be re-released especially the UNCUT season 1! I only have been able to see the German Season 1 episodes, which were on youtube at one point, but were removed due to copyright reasons I believe.

Does anyone plan on repurchasing the series, or specific seasons? I know I will buy season 1 for sure.

I thought Rosanne was already on DVD, according the pictures of them above anyway. Were they NOT uncut on those pictured above? And yes, I may look into buying the first few seasons anyway.

Yes, Anchor Bay previously released all nine seasons on DVD. However, when they released the first season, they used the syndicated masters of the episodes instead of the original ABC masters. From season 2 on, all epsiodes were uncut with the exception of some music edits in seasons 8 & 9. Another plus is that this new set is going to have more extras than the Anchor Bay ones.

Thanks for the info and I'm glad that I didn't bother buying those DVDs. If I spend money on DVDs I expect to get the FULL versions, otherwise i may as well just watch them when they are aired on TV. Truthfully, I'm surprised that Shout Factory didn't pick up the option for Rosanne. They did a stand up job with the Leave It To Beaver set.

Good news. I almost bought the Anchor Bay ones, because they were on a really cheap sale at Target and ShopKo once, but I had heard that they used the syndcated prints, so that killed it for me.

Shout Factory has done awesome with Designing Women, one episode did replace a song and another used a syndicated theme song, and a few episodes used openings from later in that season, but this is all forgivable because of how great they've done with the series. Full-lenght episodes, they even retain the original Columbia Pictures closing logo (some of them stating "a unit of the Coca Cola company" on them!) When finances permit, I'm going to get their Patty Duke and My Two Dads sets. (Years ago I had bought these on ioffer from people that had homemade them, because neither was available on DVD then, but I didn't pay that much.)

I will have to admit that I never thought the day would come and they would re-relase season 1 of this ground-breaking sitcom. But I have to say that now it has come fruitition I will definitely be sure to purchase it when it comes out. Though I have all the seasons that were relased it will not stop me from getting these when they come out.
