That's a good point, or also the season 8 finale. When I watch that I always think that would have been a very nice way to end the series right there.

That episode sure has a lot of emotion to it, what with Mrs. Garrett's farewell. But they offered her millions to stay, and she wouldn't hear of it. How would they have convinced her to appear at the end of Season 8?

Oh I just meant the season 8 finale as it stands. When I watch that I feel such a sense of closure and think, hey, can we just stop here and pretend season 9 didn't happen? It just feels right.

(Don't get me wrong, having Mrs. Garrett there would feel "righter", haha, but taking it for what it is, I prefer the season 8 finale infinitely more than the series finale)

Are you guys talking about the last episode on season 8, when BLAIR delivers JO's speech?

In that case yes: it could have easily ended up with the 2 besties hugging each other at their final graduation, and i would have been very happy by such an emotional ending....

If that's the same episode where Jo says goodbye and heads to the front door to move to California, that's the one I'm talking about.

Oops! i forgot about that part lol!

Nope: i was talking about the one when JO & BLAIR graduate from college, and JO has her grandpa come all the way from Poland.
JO refuses to read her speech because she feels it's not truthful and she has written something of her own.
BLAIR then it's selected to read what the school wants her too, but in the end she decides to do the correct and loyal thing: she reads JO's emotional speech, and after everyone claps, both girls hug each other warmly.....

To me: this final graduation should have been the last episode.

The one where JO wants to leave in a hurry to go to Florida seemed so out of place, and she was not very warm to the 3 girls she had roomed for so many years with:

All JO said was "Bye!" (without even hugging BLAIR, NAT & TOOTIE) but thank god on second thoughts she returns after hesitating, and hugs them!

I agree, season 8 finale would have been great as a series finale
