Default The pilot for the series...

...(which was originally pitched to ABC) appeared on "LOVE, AMERICAN STYLE" as the segment "Love and The Old-Fashioned Father", in January 1972[as part of Hanna-Barbera's deal with Paramount to release their theatrical feature "Charlotte's Web" in '73]. When their pilot episode was rejected by ABC as a weekly series, H-B decided to syndicate the show themselves (through their corporate parent Taft Broadcasting, and Worldvision Enterprises), picking up General Motors' Chevrolet division as a national sponsor {that's why there's a car prominently featured in the opening title**, and distributed the show to local stations [including New York's WNBC-TV] beginning in the fall of 1972. It lasted two seasons, and 48 episodes.
