Live from New York - 6 shows all in a row!
"Saturday Night Live is extending its unprecedented run with consecutive shows during its 46th season. In addition to the previously announced five shows in a row (Oct. 3 through Oct. 31), there will now be an additional sixth original SNL on Nov. 7 on the Saturday following Election Day. John Mulaney hosts this Saturday, Oct. 31, with musical guest The Strokes. After the 6 all-new episodes in a row, SNL will be on hiatus for the rest of November and will return for three all-new shows in December (Dec. 5, 12 and 19) to wrap up the Fall run (9 total episodes, plus primetime Election special on Nov. 2 at 10pm). Saturday Night Live is produced in association with Broadway Video and airs LIVE on Saturdays at 11:30pm ET/8:30pm PT on NBC. The creator and executive producer is Lorne Michaels. It's usually 3 one, one off, so I get why this is news - the thing is, that third show usually has less funny material and burnt out stars. So why would they push it to 6 shows in a row?
