1085. When Casts Collide
Back-to-back episodes of three classic TV series feature crossover appearances by characters from other shows. []Happy Days: Fonzie and Richie's double date with Laverne & Shirley is followed by the invasion of the Cunningham home by alien Mork from Ork. Charlie's Angels: The crimefighting trio of Kelly Garrett, Kris Munroe and Tiffany Welles set sail aboard The Love Boat in a two-parter involving their assignment to recover a fortune in stolen art. []All in the Family: Edith and Archie visit Maude when they learn her daughter is about to enter a mixed marriage; and The Jeffersons say goodbye to their Hauser Street neighbors and move on up to a “de-luxe apartment” in their own sitcom.
+ Happy Days w/ Laverne & Shirley.
+ Happy Days ”My Favorite Orkan”
This is where audiences first met Mork from Ork, a character created by Robin Williams, whose comedic gifts would later be showcased in Mork & Mindy. In this unusually surreal Happy Days episode, Mork lands on Earth to take back a typical earthling as a specimen. He targets Richie (Ron Howard), who, thinking his life is too dull, jumps at this chance of a lifetime---until he discovers the trip will last several lifetimes. But it's too late. Mork won't take no for an answer, so it's up to the fearless Fonz (Henry Winkler) to save the day...which is enlivened, of course, by Williams' manic energy and goofy brand of freestyle physical comedy.
+ Charlie's Angels ”Love Boat Angels” Part 1 of 2

The pyrotechnics display---some 20,000 shells fired from barges on the East River---is narrated by Betty Buckley, with performances by Ann Hampton Callaway and Michael Cavanaugh. Carson Daly and Molly Sims (a costar of NBC's fall drama Las Vegas) are the hosts.

Or does he? “It's a pity you can't take the fun side of him and leave the work side at home,” ponders Samantha's mother, Endora (Agnes Moorehead), who promptly splits her son-in-law in two. Soon, Darrin's hedonistic half becomes a mass of irresponsibility, while his workaholic half nearly runs his client (Frank Maxwell) and boss (David White) into the ground. “Divided He Falls” (first telecast May 5, 1966) is such a delight that when Dick Sargent replaced York in 1969, the first episode he filmed was a remake of this one.

Lucy, Ricky, Ethel and Fred are anything but happy wanderers (road warriors is more like it) in this fourth-season episode, which first aired on Jan. 17, 1955. Ending the first day of their drive across the country outside Cincinnati, the intrepid foursome (Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz, Vivian Vance and William Frawley) are so tired and hungry that they pull up to the first roadside cafe they see. To call it rundown would be an understatement. The specialty of the house: cheese sandwiches wrapped in celophane. Lucy (Lucille Ball) is once again in hot water---the owner of Grauman's Chinese Theatre wants to see her in jail because she stole John Wayne's footprints during her souvenir hunt. Ricky (Desi Arnaz) manages to talk him out of pressing charges, but Lucy must return the footprints. It won't be so easy: she broke the slab. Fortunately, Wayne's a good sport and will be glad to come to the Ricardos' hotel suite for foot-dipping duty. With Lucy on the loose, it won't be easy duty.
