I get it. Pluto TV is free because they are supported through ads/commercial. However, I have noticed that their commercial breaks are becoming more frequent (every 4-5 minutes and there's 6-7 ads on average). It has become so noticeable that I switch to another streaming service (both Tubi and Freevee seem to have less ads between longer intervals) or dig out my DVDs.

I like Pluto TV because I can access game shows and Buzzr, but I have had to stop because their ads are just too annoying.

Anyone else feel that their ads have become too much?

Oh, I was trying to watch an old, old, old movie from the 1940s the other night "The Best Years of Our Lives" and it was 4 minutes of movie, then 4 minutes worth of commercials.

Who can put up with that?

I'm not sure I agree with that. It depends on the show you're watching since they all seem to run unedited. So shows that originally ran 25 minutes only have 5 minutes of commercials. Ones that originally ran 23 minutes have 7 minutes of commercials , etc. The others free streaming services you mention do similar with commercials.

Honestly, I often look at a schedule and parallel that schedule with watching on free streaming services. Example: 10am on Antenna TV is Dennis the Menace. I'll watch it at that time on Peacock which I get their basic service with my cable connection to NBC. Yet there are a multitude of other free streaming services that run Dennis the Menace uncut and commercials limited to meeting a 30 minute period.

Then there are recent gems only on free streaming like Chico and the Man on Tubi. Thanks to who ever posted it on these boards since I would have missed it. Those episodes run uncut and only have enough commercials to fill a 30 minute period.

Now on free streaming service - Crackle really does over do commercials. The shows may run uncut but there are so many commercials that the half hour show runs 35 minutes. I haven't watched on Crackle in a long time so this may have changed.

As for movies I'm thinking that the movie and commercials would fit into a certain time period. So if the movie is one hour and 15 minute movie may have 15 minutes of commercials to fit a one hour and a half time period. I don't watch movies so I'm only guessing.

Those free streaming services that run Buzzr, and there are many, are simulcasting the programs exactly as they air on free TV and cable. And Buzzr really, really butchers their shows with commercials and very bad edits.

I use both often for Dennis the Menace and many other shows.

Antenna TV has also become unwatchable.

Honestly most of the digit channels are unwatchable. Between the commercials and the butched editing it makes it difficult to turn those channels on to watch.

Luckily with good internet service better options are available.

I usually don't do the streaming stuff and I haven't relied on any of the over the air retro channels for quite a while. DVD's are what works best for me, I have a collection of favorite old shows and can put a disc in the DVD player anytime.

I had a massive DVD collection. After realizing I generally only watched a DVD once I figured it was time to get rid of them considering the space they were taking up.

Years ago Amazon accepted DVD trade ins. When they stopped the market for dvds started to dwindle and streaming became a popular way to watch programs.

I will never get rid of my DVD's as I much prefer having favorite TV shows and movies on physical media.

At the current time there is one TV series that I occasionally watch on line/streaming and that series is The Danny Thomas Show, the Tubi website has seasons 4-11 up for free viewing. I would really prefer having these on DVD but if they don't get released it seems that on line streaming is the best option for viewing.

I watched some Three’s Company on Pluto the day after Suzanne Somers passed, and I noticed it had a lot of commercials and the actual show seems kind of short.

It's free and the advertisers foot the bill, so I am sort of eh on it. Because it is free, Pluto is the only streaming service (Besides Youtube) I will use when I can't find something on over the air, or just too lazy to put in a DVD or Blu-Ray.
