TCA Tour CBS: Day 1

It was day one of the broadcast TCA tour, and CBS's first of two days. Today was basically an executive session. No real news just reporters asking executive Nina Tassler some questions. She said CSI is expected to take a hit from Grey's Anatomy and is calling CSI an "underdog." However, two hit shows can be successful in one time-slot, and there have been many numerous examples of that, like American Idol and Lost last season, Without a Trace and ER, and the list goes on and on. The change in its previously announced Monday schedule, with debut comedy The Class flipping with sophomore comedy How I Met Your Mother at 8 p.m. (ET), was designed to keep Mother in the same time period it was in this past season and allow the show "to bask in the halo from promo of The Class." CBS has no plans to bring back original programming to Saturdays, Ms. Tassler said. "Our Saturday night does fine," she said. "We're certainly open to it if the show presented itself, but we are going to be stet on Saturday." And finally, I don't know if this is true, but Now Playing Magazine says they got a report that CBS will be advertising on eggs this fall, as well. Yes, eggs! Some of the slogans on the eggs include: CBS Monday - Leave the Yolks to Us; CSI - Crack the Case on CBS; The Class - New Grade-A CBS Comedy. Hilarious! Read that column here. Who knows if it is true, but I thought I'd throw it out there.
We hope CBS announces fall premiere dates tomorrow. If they do, we will be announcing it here, along with our weekly ratings report.
