Introduction:

Country music super-star Reba McEntire is back as Reba Hart, a single mom "who works too hard and loves her kids and never stops". This season, Reba and her family face numerous problems that aren't always solved in 30 minutes, such as Van (Steve Howey) getting traded to a football team in Denver which leads to Cheyenne's (Joanna Garcia) personal problems. The main source of conflict this season results from the separation of Brock (Christopher Rich) and Barbra Jean (Melissa Peterman). Collect all 22 season four episodes on Tuesday, November 14!

Memorable Episodes / Notable Guest Stars:

Notable episodes this season include (but aren't limited to) "Mother's Intuition," "Two Girl Theory," "Van's Agent," "Surprise," "Couple's Therapy," "Thanksgiving," "Flowers for Van," "Who Killed Brock?," "The Pageant of Grandmas," "Reba's Rules of Real Estate" and "Hello, My Name Is Cheyenne."

Some guest stars this season include Dolly Parton, Patrick Duffy (Step by Step, Dallas), James Denton (Desperate Housewives) and Wendie Malick (Just Shoot Me, Jake in Progress).

Packaging:

The cover, decorated in pinks and purples features a large picture of Reba, with co-stars Melissa Peterman and Christopher Rich behind her. It's a very nice cover, and in my opinion, a step up from past releases. The set is slip-sleeve. The snap cases feature the same main design. There are three discs spread over two slim cases. The discs themselves are double-sided, so no art. Disc 1/Side A contains episodes 1-3. Disc 1/Side B contains episodes 4-7. Disc 2/Side A contains episodes 8-11. Disc 2/Side B contains episodes 12-15. Disc 3/Side A contains episodes 16-19 and Disc 3/Side B contains episodes 20-22.

Menu Design and Navigation:

The main menu on each disc changes (Disc 1 is pink, Disc 2 is blue and Disc 3 is green) and features the theme song looping in the background. It's similar to past seasons. It features half of a circle next to the menu selections and video clips of the season play and loop when the theme song ends (each disc features different clips). The selections are "Play All" which lets you, obviously, play all of the episodes on that disc. "Language Selection" gives you the option of English or Spanish subtitles for the episodes along with English and Spanish as the language. "Episode Selection" lets you choose the episode you want to watch.

Video and Audio Quality:

Considering this was shot in 2004 and 2005, the video quality is fantastic, crystal clear with vibrant colors. The audio itself is fine as well. There are English and Spanish subtitles and the set is closed captioned. Chapter skips are available on each episode and each episode is obviously going to be uncut, as each episode only runs 21 minutes in length…normal for this time period.

Special Features:

Unlike the first few seasons, there are NO special features on this set. What a bummer! This is very unlike 20th Century Fox.

Final Comments:

This is a solid release by 20th Century Fox, with nice packaging, and great quality episodes. "Reba" is such an underrated sitcom. Each episode is written by brilliant writers and they are hilarious--truly a "classic sitcom" if there ever was one. The bad news is that there aren't any special features. No commentary, no bloopers, nothing. What a shame, but that shouldn't stop you from getting the set! And don’t forget Reba returns with all-new episodes on Sunday, November 19 at 7 p.m. on The CW.

Final Numbers (out of 5 stars - How our point system works)

Video Quality: 5/5
Audio Quality: 5/5
Special Features: 0/5
Menu Navigation/Design: 4.5/5
Overall: 4/5
