(see this users gallery) The Tycoon aired from September 1964 until September 1965 on ABC.
A season after The Real McCoys left the air, Walter Brennan returned to star in this unsuccessful sitcom. Brennan played Walter Andrews, a cantankerous and eccentric widower and millionaire who was chairman of the board of the giant Thunder Corporation, a huge California conglomerate. Walter did things his way, and despite the complaints and misgivings of his coworkers and business associates, his approach to problems usually worked. Not one to let protocal affect his operation, Walter was a constant problem for everyone from his young assistant and private pilot Pat Burns ( Van Williams), to company president Herbert Wilson ( Jerome Cohan). Walter made his home with his cute little granddaughter Martha ( Pat McNulty) and housekeeper Una Fields ( Monty Margetts). Also featured on this series were George Lindsay as Martha's husband, Tom Keane, a naval officer; Janet Lake as Betty Franklin, Walter's secretary; and Grace Albertson as Louise Wilson, Herbert's wife.
