(see this users gallery) 13 East aired from July 1989 until August 1990 on NBC.
Comedy set at the nursing station of Ward 13 East, at a large hospital. Maggie ( Diana Bellamy) was the heavyset, heavy-handed boss nurse who thoroughly enjoyed being in charge. Her young subordinates were naive Kelly ( Barbara Isenberg), socially conscious Janet ( Ellen Regan), and sexy Monique ( Jan Cobler), who was regularly being propositioned by horny Dr. Newman ( Timothy Wade). Wandering about the floor were Gertrude ( Marie Denn), the absentminded volunteer, and Frazier ( Wayne Powers), the overbearing administrator. Several of these heavily stereotyped characters were jettisoned for the series second brief run, only to be replaced by others: Sidney ( Eric Glenn), the wisecracking orderly who aspired to be a standup comic and A.J. ( Rosemary Jackson)the pretty nurse with no common sense, whose dates turned into disasters.
The series was produced by one -time actor Scoey Mitchell which was taped not in Hollywood or New York, but in Irving, Texas. |
