The Practice aired from January 1976 until January 1977 on NBC.
There were two doctors in the Bedford family, but they had radically different approaches to the practice of medicine. The elder Bedford, Jules ( Danny Thomas), was really from the old school. He was a little absentminded, could be grouchy and preoccupied, but was a warm, concerned individual with a love of people and a willingness to help, whether or not there was money to be made. Jules' office was on Manhattan's middle-class West Side. His nurse, Molly ( Dena Dietrich), had been with him for years and had an obvious crush on the widowed doctor; the outer office was " run" by a young, slightly daff receptionist named Helen ( Didi Conn). Son David Bedford ( David Spielberg), on the other hand , had set up practice on exclusive Park Avenue, was making money hand over fist, and was always after his dad to move in and share office space with him.Completing the cast were David's wife Jenny ( Shelley Fabares) and his two young boys Paul and Tony ( Allen Price, Damon Raskin).
