(see this users gallery) Nobody's Perfect aired from June until August 1980 on ABC.
Roger Hart ( Ron Moody) was an elegant anachronism, an urbane Scotland Yard detective on loan to the San Francisco Police Department, where he worked with decidedly earthier U.S. cops. Hart was a bit confusing to his hosts. On the one hand he seemed klutzy and accident-prone-objects in his vicinity tended to tip over, fall apart, spill, run dry, unravel, or burst into flames. But in a pinch, he could be a man of unexpected talents-bomb expert, pilot, swordsman, or master of disguise. His boss, Lt. Vince de Gennaro ( Michael Durrell) teamed the tall, grinning Englishman with another problem person on the squad, Det. Jennifer Dempsey ( Cassie Yates), and off they went to surprise San Franciscans. On their first first assignment Hart so surprised a would-be suicide on the Golden Gate Bridge that the man did indeed jump. Bring up the laugh track.
Jacobi, Grauer, and Ramsey ( Victor Brandt, Tom Williams, Renny Roker) were other detectives on the squad.
