The McLean Stevenson Show aired from December 1976 until March 1977 on NBC.
Mac Ferguson ( McLean Stevenson) was a typical middle-class family man, owner of a hardware store in his hometown of Evanston, Illinois. He and his wife Peggy ( Barbara Stuart) had two grown children who through circumstances that could not possibly have been anticipated by their parents , were living with them. Janet ( Ayn Ruymen) had seperated from her husband and moved in along with her two young children, David and Jason ( David Hollander, Jason Whitney). Chris ( Steve Nevil), after several years of trying to " find" himself , principally spent bumming around in Hawaii, returned home to go back to college part-time, taking up residence in the basement and setting it up as a bachelor pad. If this didn't create enough congestion, Peggy's mother, Grandma ( Madge West) was also a member of the household.
