Seven years after he had deserted his wife because he couldn't take the pressures of being married, Raymond Ellis ( Demond Wilson), discovered that she had just had him declared legally dead. Raymond moved into the apartment building where his ex-wife, Olivia ( Denise Nicholas ), lived with their two young children, Angie and Jordan ( Kim Fields, Tony Holmes), and her mother, Luzelle ( Helen Martin).
Not only did Ray try to rekindle a romance with his ex-wife, but he also had to contend with a mother-in-law who never liked him in the first place and Col.
