After the cancellation of Our Miss Brooks, Eve Arden returned a year later in this unsuccessful situation comedy.The series cast the actress as novelist Liza Hammond. Liza was a widow who supplemented her writing income by giving lectures , and George Howell ( Allyn Joslyn)was the head of the lecture bureau that booked her tours. While Liza was ouit lecturing the population, her 12-year old twin daughters, Jenny and Mary ( Gail Stone, Karen Greene), were at home being looked after by her mother, Nora ( Frances Bavier) The series was based on the autobiography of the write Emily Kimbrough.
