(see this users gallery) The Soldiers aired from July until September 1955 on NBC.
This live summer comedy series , originating from Hollywood, starred Hal March and Tom D'Andrea in the roles they had played over the years on numerous variety shows. As two typical GIs who found nothing but trouble in the army, Tom and Hal complained about almost everything-the regimentation, the food, their superior officers, etc. Each episode contained one or more vignettes about a specific aspect of life in the army; getting letters from home, trying to get passes, being sent to an isolated location for a special assignment, and the problems of adjusting to civilian life after being discharged.
Bud Yorkin produced and directed.
