Peck's Bad Girl aired from May until August 1959 on CBS.
After she made a promising debut in the motion picture "The Bad Seed", Desilu attempted to capitalize on the buzz about child actress Patty McCormack, by creating this sitcom about a mischievous 12-year old girl and her father, played by Wendell Corey.
Research physicist Steve Peck ( Wendell Corey) was a typical middle-class American with a typical middle-class family. He had a charming wife named Jennifer ( Marsha Hunt), two children, Torey and Roger ( Patty McCormack, Ray Ferrell), and a home in the suburbs. Torey, his 12 year old, was at that awkward age. She wasn't quite sure whether she was going to become a young lady or stay an aggresive tomboy. Her indecision and inconsistency were very trying on her parents who tried to understand and give useful advice, and completely mind-boggling to her little brother, who never quite figured out what was going on.
The title and format were a variation on the Peck's Bad Boy movies of the 1920's and 1930's starring Jackie Cooper.
