Police Academy: The Series aired during the 1997-1998 season in first run syndication.
No real police academy could have been like this-populated with incompetent officers and misfit recruits. Ledbetter ( Rod Crawford), one of the trainers was a pompous fool with a bad toupee that kept getting caught on things. He had it in for Casey ( Matt Borlenghi), a recruit whose father had regularly outperformed him during their academy days two decades earlier. The Tackelberry's , Dirk and Dana( Toby Proctor, Jeremiah Birkett), despite their racial differences, were bumbling " twins." There were two female recruits: Alicia ( Christine Gonzales), a tough, street-smart former gang member, and Annie ( Heather Campbell), a cute girl who was afraid of getting involved in relationships because every guy she had ever been sweet on had suffered horrible accidents. Despite this, she and Casey started dating-although they kept it a secret from their fellow recruits. Luke (Tony Longo) was a muscular lug with limited intelligence, and Lester ( P.J. Ochlan) the goofy recruit who did Ledbetter's bidding. Hefelfinger ( Joe Flaherty) was the ineffectual head of the academy, and Kendall ( Larke Miller) his sexy but ditsy secretary.
Adapted from the successful series of seven theatrical films, with Michael Winslow, who had been featured in all of them, reprising his role as Sgt. Larvelle Jones.
