Love & Marriage aired from September 1959 until January 1960 on NBC.
William Harris ( William Demarest) was an old-time music publisher whose hatred for the currently popular rock 'n' roll music was hurting his business and his health. He loved melodious music and refused to deal with most of the popular songs submitted to him. His progressive son-in-law Steve ( Murray Hamilton) was a constant source of irritation and his daughter Pat ( Jeanne Bal) was often left in the role of mediator between her father and her husband. Pat had inveigled herself into partnership with her father so she could keep an eye on him. Featured in the show were William Harris' s secretary Sophie ( Kay Armen), and song-plugger Stubby Wilson ( Stubby Kaye), who performed many of the songs submitted to the publisher and spent a lot of time reminiscing about the " good old days" in the music-publishing business.Rounding out the cast were Susan and Jenny ( Susan Reilly, Jeannie Lynn), who were Pat and Steve's young daughters.
