My Brother and Me aired from October 1994 until February 1995 on Nickelodeon.
One of the few series on Nickelodeon featuring a black family, My Brother and Me depicted life through the eyes of an eight-year-old living in a pleasant suburb of Charlotte, North Carolina. Dee Dee ( Ralph Woolfolk IV)was still at the impressionable " gee whiz!" stage. He worshiped his supercool older brother, Alfe ( Arthur Reggie lll), though both of them were disdained by self-absorbed sister Melanie ( Aisling Sistrunk). Dee Dee's best buddies were Harry and Donnell ( Keith " Bubba" Naylor, Stefan J. Wernli), while Alfie hung out with chubby Goo ( Jimmy Lee Newman Jr.), a prankster who frequently got them into trouble while attempting to get himself off the hook by flattering adults. Deonne ( Amanda Seales) was Melanie's friend. Jennifer ( Karen E. Fraction) was the Parkers kids' mom, a driver's ed teacher; Roger ( Jim R. Coleman) their sports-writer dad; and Mrs. Pinckney ( Kym Whitley) the operator of the local comics store, who was all too hip to the kids' tricks.
