Tiring of the rat race of newspaper work in New York City, reporter Bob Major ( Robert Sterling) bought the only paper in a small rural town called Phippsboro, and moved there with his 6 year old son Benjie( Jimmy Mathers, brother of Leave It To Beaver's Jerry Mathers).The man from whom Bob had purchased the paper, and who still owned most of the town was Ichabod Adams ( George Chandler) Ichabod still kept his finger in the operation of the paper, while his attractive young daughter Abigail( Christine White) kept her eye on the highly eligible Mr. Major. Others in the cast included Reta Shaw as Aunt Lavinia; Jimmy Hawkins as Jonathan Baylor; Guy Raymond as Martin Perkins; Burt Mustin as Olaf; and Forrest Lewis as Colby.
