The Brady Bunch Hour aired from January until May 1977 on ABC.
This was an attempt to revive The Brady Bunch comedy of the early 1970's, in an hour-long format. The original cast ( Robert Reed as Mike; Florence Henderson as Carol; Ann B. Davis as Alice; Maureen Mccormick as Marcia; Barry Williams as Greg; Christopher Knight as Peter; Mike Lookinland as Bobby; Susan Olsen as Cindy) returned intact except for Eve Plumb who was replaced by Geri Reischl as Jan. The format now contained more variety than situation comedy as father Mike had given up his career as an architect so that the family could star in their own tv show. The setting was changed to a new beachfront home in California, and a group called the Water-Follies Swimmers made regular appearances.
Originally scheduled to be seen only every 5th week in the Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries timeslot on Sundays( 7-8 p.m.), The Brady Bunch Hour later turned up in various ABC time periods on different nights.
