(see this users gallery) Sally aired from September 1957 until March 1958 on NBC.
When this series premiered, Sally Truesdale ( Joan Caulfield) was a former department store salesgirl who had become the traveling companion of a wealthy widow named Myrtle Banford ( Marion Lorne). The matronly Mrs. Banford was slightly wacky and always getting into scrapes of one sort or another as she and Sally moved from city to city around the world. When they returned home, in the February 16, 1958 episode, the format changed. Sally and Mrs. Banford spent most of their time helping to run the Banford-Bleacher Department Store, of which Mrs. Banford was part owner. Added to the cast were Mr. Bascomb Bleacher ( Gale Gordon) and his incompetent but lovable son Bascomb Bleacher, Jr. ( Arte Johnson) and Jim Kindall ( Johnny Desmond), an artist in the store's advertising department who became Sally's love interest.
