(see this users gallery) Popi aired from January until August 1976 on CBS.
Abraham Rodriguez ( Hector Elizondo) was a poor Puerto Rican immigrant who held three part-time jobs to make enough money to support his family. A widower with two young sons , Junior and Luis ( Anthony Perez, Dennis Vasquez) he lived in a small apartment. One of his neighbors in the building was Lupe ( Edith Diaz), the woman he was dating. Life in New York City was not easy for him, but he managed somehow to survive and maintain his self respect and dignity. The first five episodes of this series aired early in 1976 but did so poorly that the show was canceled. During the following summer the original episodes were aired, along with a few ruruns.
Adapted from the 1969 theatrical film starring Alan Arkin.
