Robert Dreyfuss ( Paul Sand) was a bass violinist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. A young, unaggressive, incurable romantic whose shyness always made success with women difficult, Robert was nevertheless constantly falling in love with just about every pretty girl he met. His emotional opposite was his older brother Charlie ( Michael Pataki)-aggressive, loud and overprotective of Robert. Charlie's wife Janice ( Penny Marshall) was forever making fun of Robert's girl problems.
