(see this users gallery) Pacific Station aired from September 1991 until January 1992 on NBC.
Barney Miller seemed to be the inspiration for this police comedy about a sensible detective, Bob Ballard ( played by Benson's Robert Guillaume), surounded by a squad room full of crazies. Among the targets for Bob's barbs were his newly assigned partner, Richard ( Richard Libertini), a gangly aging flower child just off psychiatric leave, who kept trying to get Bob in touch with his feelings; Capt. Kenny ( Joel Murray), the massively incompetent mama's boy who had just been promoted to the job Bob deserved; Al ( Ron Liebman), the resident lech and sycophant ; Sandy ( Megan Gallagher), the female detective on the squad ; and Bishop ( John Hancock), the hefty, black Deputy Commissioner who revealed in his own importance. Passing through were a parade of loony arrestees from the precinct's notoriously black community of Venice, California.
