Dick Hollister ( Richard Benjamin), was a successful cartoonist whose creation Jetman had been turned into a tv show starring Oscar North ( Jack Cassidy), in the title role. Oscar was a bit on the arrogant, smug, egocentric side, and was constantly disagreeing with Dick about the proper interpetation of Jetman. Paula ( Paula Prentiss), Dick's scatterbrained social-worker wife had problems of her own which always seemed to end up being shared by the 2 of them. Andrew Hummel ( Hamilton Camp), was the fumbling superintendent of the New York apartment building in which Dick and Paula lived ; Harry ( Kenneth Mars), was ther fireman friend and Harold Gould played Norman Nugent.
Though the series was scheduled in a great time slot ( 9:30 Wednesdays, following The Beverly Hillbillies and Green Acres), audiences seemed to stay away in droves.
Paula Prentiss and Richard Benjamin were husband and wife in real-life.
