Goodtime Girls ran from January until August 1980 on ABC.
Comedy set in Washington D.C. during World War 2 ( 1942), where 3 young women Edith, Betty, Loretta ( Annie Potts, Lorna Paterson, Georgia Engel), descended on the same scarce one-room apartment. Snobish Camille ( Francine Tacker), doing a magazine story on the apartment shortage, was much ammused until she found out that she'd lost hers and had to move in with them, making it 4 in the cramped attic room.
Edith employed at the Office Of Price Administration,was the group's unofficial leader; Betty from Sioux City, Iowa, worked in a Baltimore Defense Plant; and shy Loretta, a war bride, worked for Gen. Culpepper. a pentigan bureaucrat. The Coolidge House boarding facility where they lived was tightly run by George and Irma Coolidge ( Merwin Goldsmith, Marcia Lewis). Benny ( Peter Scolari) was a friend of the girls and Frankie ( Adrian Zmed)was the hustling cabbie who brought the girls there-because he lived downstairs.
Ration stamps, big bands, and the jitterbug provided the social backdrop.
