(see this users gallery) The Bing Crosby Show aired from September 1964 until June 1965 on ABC.
An established recording and motion picture star, Bing Crosby had made few forays into television before taking the big plunge with this 1964 sitcom. In it he played Bing Collins, a former singer who had left the hectic world of show business to settle down with his family and work as an electical engineer. But life around the Collins household was hardly peaceful. Bing's wife Ellie ( Beverly Garland), had visions of making it in show business herself. Their 2 daughters provided quite a contrast: Janice ( Carol Faylen), was a normal boy-crazy 15 year old, but 10 year old Joyce ( Diane Sherry), was so intellectual she seemed to belong in college. Willie Walters ( Frank McHugh), was the family's live-in handyman. Bing managed to sneak a song into almost every episode of this series, in between mediating disputes and dispensing sage advice.
The series was produced by Steven Gethers for Bing Crosby Productions and was telecast Mondays immediately preceding Ben Casey, another Bing Crosby Productions venture.
