(see this users gallery) This half-hour sitcom ran from September 1972 until August 1974 on NBC.
Titled The Little People during it's first season, this was a heart warming comedy about 2 pediatricians, a father and a daughter, Sean and Anne Jamison ( Brian Keith, Shelley Fabares), who ran a free clinic, as well as private practices on the Hawaiian Island of Oahu. The concerns that the Jamisons had for their " little People" formed the crux of most of the stories. The type of humor was similar to that on Family Affair, Mr. Keith's previous hit series.
In it's second season, the situation changed somewhat as did the title, which became The Brian Keith Show. The very proper Dr. Chaffee( Roger Bowen), now shared office space with Sean and found that adjusting to Sean's informality could be rather difficult. Wealthy widow Mrs. Gruber ( Nancy Kulp), owner of the free clinic as well as much of Hawaii was added to the cast to help provide problem situations for the easy-going doctor and his attractive and equally competent daughter.
The Brian Keith Show was created by Gary Marshall, the writer/producer/director/actor responsible for shows like Happy Days and Laverne And Shirley, to name just two, and Brian Keith himself served as a producer. His real-life wife Victoria Young played the wise-cracking Nurse Puni who was often jealous when her boss, Dr. Jamison, went on dates with the pretty local Hawaiian girls.
Bobby Keith ( the little son of Brian and Victoria), could also be seen in some episodes, making this show even more of a Family Affair than Keith's last series.
