(see this users gallery) Billy aired From February to April 1979 on CBS.
Half-hour sitcom hastily scheduled by CBS to replace Co-Ed Fever, which the network shelved after just one showing. It starred a very young Steve Guttenberg as 19 year old Billy Fisher. Their were many ways of looking at Billy. His mother Alice ( Peggy Pope), thought he had a vivid imagination; his father George ( James Gallery), was sure he was a compulsive liar; and his Grandmother ( Paula Trueman), put it more succinctly then either of his parents-as far as she was concerned, Billy was just nuts. Billy's real world revolved around his menial job as an assistant mortician's clerk at the funeral home of Shadrack and Shadrack. In his fantasy life, however he was everything from a famous surgeon, to a rock superstar appearing on The Merv Griffith Show, to the world's most irresistable bachelor. In Billy's daydreams, at least 2 of which were shown in each episode of this short-lived series, appeared such personalities as Don Adams, Suzanne Somers, and football star Larry Czonka-all playing themselves.
