Apple Pie was a short lived sitcom that lasted just 2 weeks back in September 1978 on ABC.
"You can't pick your own relatives" goes the old saying, but that's exactly what a lonely hair dresser named Ginger-Nell Hollyhock Rue McClanahan) did. Placing classified ads in local papers, she recruited a con man husband ("Fast Eddie" played by Dabney Coleman), a tap dancing daughter Anna Maries (Caitlin O'Heaney) a son who wanted to fly like a bird named Junior( Derrel Maury), and a tottering old grandfather Grandpa( Jack Gilford) all whom came to live together-for the laughs. The setting was in Kansas City, Missouri which added period color
The program was based on the play Nourish The Beast by Steve Tesich. Charlie Hauck produced this short-lived show for Norman Lear's T.A.T. Communications.

send an e-mail with the url of the photo(s). We will also gladly credit or
link to any site that is the original source of any photos.
