The Adventures Of Hiram Holliday ran from October 1956 until February 1957 on NBC.
Half-hour filmed sitcom based on the short stories by Paul Gallico. Wally Cox ( formerly of Mr. Peepers) starred as Hiram Holliday, a meek, mild mannered proofreader for a NY Newspaper who was discovered to posessphysical and technical skills in a remarkable assortment of activities, such as fencing, scuba diving , airplane piloting and art forgery. He was rewarded with a trip around the world by his employer when he corrected an error in an article, thereby proventing a lawsuit against the paper. Also featured was Joel Smith( Ainslie Pryor), a reporter sent along with Holliday as companion and recorder of his adventures. Most of the stories involved cases of mistaken identity or the innocent involvement of mild-mannered Holliday in international intrigue. Sharp-eyed viewers may have noticed a beardless Sebastian Cabot, who appeared in 4 episodes as M. Cerveaux " The brain of the underworld."
