Mike Grubb in The Grubbs

Randy Quaid photo For over two decades, Randy Quaid has delighted audiences in a variety of comic and dramatic roles on both the big and small screens.

While attending college, Quaid was discovered by filmmaker Peter Bogdanovich and made his screen debut in the director's first feature "Targets." Quaid became a favorite of the director, and went on to appear in several of his films, including "The Last Picture Show," "What's Up, Doc" and "Paper Moon." For his role as a kleptomaniac sailor opposite Jack Nicholson in Hal Ashby's "The Last Detail," Quaid received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He continued to work with an impressive array of directors, including Alan Parker in "Midnight Express" and Walter Hill in "The Long Riders."

More recently, Quaid is best-known as bumbling Uncle Eddie in the "National Lampoon's Vacation" franchise, as well as for a series of comedic roles in films such as "Quick Change," "Bye Bye, Love," "Kingpin" and the blockbuster hit "Independence Day."

On television, Quaid's range has been equally diverse. He won a Golden Globe Award for his performance as President Lyndon Baines Johnson in the miniseries "LBJ: The Early Years" and an Emmy nomination for his role in "A Streetcar Named Desire" opposite Ann-Margret. He also starred as Randy Weaver in "Ruby Ridge: An American Tragedy."

Quaid lives in Los Angeles with his wife Evi.
