Vivica A. Fox made her feature film debut in the action-packed blockbuster, "Independence Day." Fox starred opposite Will Smith as Jasmine DuBow, who heroically maneuvers her way through the Fourth of July wreckage to save her son, the family dog and the First Lady.
Fox went from playing a heroine to a bank robber in "Set It Off," in which she starred with Jada Pinkett, Queen Latifah and Blair Underwood.
The extremely versatile Fox stars in the soon-to-be-released comedy, "Booty Call," with Jamie Foxx and Tommy Davidson. Fox will appear in the upcoming "Batman and Robin," playing the dangerously seductive Ms. B. Haven opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger's Mr. Freeze. She will also star with Vanessa Williams and Nia Long in "Soul Food," a family drama set in Chicago.
While now firmly planted in the feature film world, Fox has roots on the small screen as well. She starred as Patti LaBelle's feisty daughter, Charisse, on the comedy series, "Out All Night." She has guest starred on such series as "Living Single," "Beverly Hills, 90210," "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air," "China Beach," "Matlock" and "Family Matters."
She moved to California to attend college and pursue an acting career. After a brief detour to New York, where she did some modeling, Fox returned to California and received an Associate Arts degree in Social Sciences from Golden West College in Huntington Beach, California.
Although she had already begun her acting career, Fox was discovered by a producer while lunching at a Sunset Boulevard restaurant ten years ago.
Fox was raised in Indianapolis with her older sister and two older brothers. |
