(see this users gallery) Theus grew up in Los Angeles, where he became a local star basketball player. After playing three years at UNLV, he was drafted in the first round, ninth pick overall, by the Chicago Bulls.
Aside from making the "All Rookie First Team," Theus was also runner-up for "Rookie of the Year." After six years with the Bulls, he joined the Kings, first in Kansas City, then in Sacramento. After five years, he spent one season each with Atlanta, Orlando and New Jersey.
In his 14-year NBA career, Theus was a two-time NBA All-Star and is one of only six players in NBA history to score over 19,000 points and have over 6,000 assists. Currently he is the national spokesperson for the NBA "Stay In School" program.
Theus is the perennial outdoorsman. He loves to hunt and fish, is an "A"-level tennis player, a world-class archer and a certified scuba-diver. His birthday is October 13.
