Joe's World aired from December 1979 until July 1980 on NBC.
This family comedy centered around an old-fashioned family man , a strict disciplinarian who was trying to cope with a changing world both at home and on the job. Joe Wabash ( Ramon Bieri) was a Detroit housepainter. He and his wife Kate ( K Callan) had five children. The oldest was Steve ( Christopher Knight), an apprentice painter on Joe's crew whom Joe hoped would someday carry on the family tradition.Steve wasn't so sure.Maggie ( Melissa Sherman), an attractive 16-year-old , gave her folks some anxious moments with the guys she was dating, while the three younger children Jimmy, Rick, and Linda ( Michael Sharrett, Ari Zeltner and Missy Francis)had all the normal sibling rivalries of a large family. At work, Joe's paint crew included Brad ( Russ Banham), self-proclaimed stud who was dating Maggie; Judy ( Misty Rowe), a sexy, blond mother who nursed her baby during lunch breaks ; and Joe's longtime friend Andy ( Frank Coppola).
