Hayden Panettiere says she was “tired of being a blonde” so decided to dye her hair red.
The Heroes star - who recently showed off her fiery new locks - says she changed her hair color because “I could!” and she fancied a bit of variation.
“I was tired of being a blonde and being... you get stuck in one thing and known for one thing and as a cheerleader or whatever that image,” she said. “It’s fun to change things up, and I feel I don’t have to overcompensate as much personality-wise when I have red hair as I do with blonde hair.”
Hayden recently revealed that feels awkward going out on the town with her male friends in case they are mistaken for her boyfriend. “I can’t stand next to anyone of the opposite sex without being linked to them or dating them. It is so frustrating,” she said last year. “Apparently I can’t have any friends. It’s absurd. And when they do the body language analyzing, it really gets to me.” – SS
