Alexander), and the sweet but naive Synclaire (Kim
Coles). Enjoy all 27 Season One episodes of the comedy
series about four fly women living large and living
single.

Birthday"), Flip Wilson ("Crappy Birthday"), Nia Long
("Love Takes a Holiday"), Cree Summer ("Love Thy
Neighbor"), Charnele Brown ("Friends Like These"),
Arsenio Hall ("Friends Like These"), Adam
Lazarre-White ("Love is a Many Splintered Thing"),

Packaging:
The packaging is a fold-out set. The cover art
features the four main characters in a season one cast
shot, pasted in front of the city skyline. The inside
case features the same overall design as well as a
list of episodes and which discs they are on. There
are four discs in the set and each one features a
different headshot of one of the main characters. Disc
1 features Khadijah and episodes 1-7, Disc 2 features
Regine and episodes 8-14, Disc 3 features Max and
episodes 15-21 while Disc 4 features Synclaire and
episodes 22-27 plus the bonus feature.
Menu Design and Navigation:
The main menu design is very sleek and simple. It
features a purple-ized shot of some buildings plus a
photo of the four girls. There are three selections on
the menu you can choose from (there are four on disc
four). The first is the popular "Play" (play all)
option that plays all the episodes on that disc. The
second selection is "Episodes," which takes you to a
list of the episodes on that disc to choose from. The
third selection is "Languages" which lets you choose
English for spoken language or English, French and
Spanish for the subtitles. On disc four, there is a
fourth selection, bonus feature, which takes you the
bonus feature(s) available on the set. A shortened
version of the theme song loops continuously while on
the main menu.
Video and Audio Quality:
The video is extremely good--fantastic colors and
vibrant sound. Nothing much to even say on it; it's
great. Each episode contains chapter skips (except on
the special feature) and appears to be unedited, but I
can't be 100% certain.

Special Feature - "How Ya Livin'?: Season One of
Living Single" (13:03)
Special Features:
* Retrospective Featurette: "How Ya Livin'?: Season
One of Living Single" (approx. 13:03 minutes)
What a nice bonus feature! I have to admit I was
surprised to find out this was more than a clip fest.
Although it IS full of clips from Season 1, it
features awesome intercuts of interviews with most of
the cast (Kim Fields, Kim Coles, T.C. Carson, Erika
Alexander & John Henton) and the people behind the
scenes (creator Yvette Lee Bowser). It is basically
what the name says, a retrospective. The cast and crew
talk about the series inception and about the show,
and season one in general. It's a very nice inclusion
and I'm glad it was included!
Final Comments:
Wow, what a great set. First of all, the bonus feature
was a really good inclusion. But I do think Warner
should of at least mentioned somewhere on the box that
it featured interviews with the cast. I just assumed
it was another all-clip fest featuring moments from
the first season. The episodes are in great condition.
Warner did a great job on the design of the box as
well as the menu screen. Very nice and it fits the
series well. I definitely encourage all fans to go out
and get this set! Good job, Warner.
