Introduction:
After watching a few episodes, I realize why I never
watched this show when it was originally on. At least
in the ones I watched, the pacing was bad and the
writing not that funny. The content of the show aside,
it is a very nice DVD release. Fans of the show
should be thrilled.
Menu Design and Navigation:
Menu Navigation is very simple to
understand, and the ever-popular "Play All" feature is
available. Like mostly all of Sony's TV DVD's, there
is a "Previews" section on upcoming or already
released Sony TV on DVD sets.
Video and Audio Quality:
The picture and audio quality is everything we've come
to expect from Columbia-Tristar. Bright, vibrant,
crisp, and clear.
Special Features:
The commentaries are on the pilot episode, "Lemon
Wacky Hello,""King Lear Jet," and "My Dinner With
Woody."
The Always in Fashion featurette is an interview with
creators and the cast and runs for nearly 27 minutes.
Although I found it to be uninteresting since I don't
particularly care for the show, I'm sure a true fan of
the show would love it.
One interesting feature is the "Blush" cover gallery.
Throughout the show, as subtitles, they show covers of
the Blush magazine that the characters work for.
These covers are featured in a gallery that the viewer
can flip through. A neat idea in my opinion.
Final Comments:
All in all, I'm sure the true fans of the series will
get a real kick out of seeing the first two seasons
made available (one short season and one regular
length season... other distributors should take a
lesson from this) and I would recommend it for any fan
of the series.
Final Numbers (out of 5 stars):
Video quality: 5/5
Audio quality: 5/5
Special Features: 4/5
Menu Design/Navigation: 4.5/5
Overall: 4.5/5
