Introduction:
Having never actually watched this show, it was pretty funny. Think of it as Mad TV before
Mad TV.
Video and Audio Quality:
The video and audio quality are honesty very good. The picture is very good, crisp and clear.
Menu Design and Navigation:
The Menu Navigation is very easy to use and has that ever useful "Play
All" feature, as well as, of course, episode selections. There are 5 episodes on each disc, with Disc 3 only having 3 episodes and
the additional half-hour clip show.
Special Features:
The Special Features are
Commentary on episodes Seven and Thirteen by Tommy Davidson. There is a 30 minute special "Looking Back in Living Color -
The First Season" that is a really nice wrap up of the season and features interviews with Tommy Davidson, David Alan Grier, and
others. The other feature is "Back in Step with the Fly Girls" and it features the first episode dance sequence of the Fly Girls with
interviews with Rosie Perez and among others. It's no longer than 5 minutes. The clip show/wrap up/interview segments is a nice
bonus and long-time fans would probably be happy with it.
Final Comments:
Overall, it is a very good set to own for long-time fans of the show, and with the star power
of Damon Wayans, David Alan Grier, Kim Coles and especially Jim Carrey, even new fans can get into it in no time.
Final Numbers (out of 5 stars):
Video quality: 5/5
Audio quality: 5/5
Special Features: 2.5/5
Menu Design/Navigation: 5/5
Overall: 4.5/5
