Introduction:

Babies, rangers, spelling bees, driving lessons and a whole lotta love, FULL HOUSE makes it way back to DVD with this four disc set, hosting the complete fifth season of the hit ABC series.

The series stars Bob Saget as widowed father Danny Tanner to his three girls, high-schooler D.J. (Candace Cameron), middle-child Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and youngest daughter Michelle (Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen). Also a part of this extended family is Jesse Katsopolis (John Stamos), uncle to the girls and his wife, Becky Donaldson-Katsopolis (Lori Loughlin). Rounding out the rest of the family and friends is Danny's long-time buddy, goofball Joey Gladstone (Dave Coulier) and D.J.'s best friend, the foul Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber).

Memorable Episodes / Notable Guest Stars:

Some of the memorable episodes this season include: "Double Trouble" in which Jesse and Becky find out they are having twins. "Matchmaker Michelle" is the one in which Michelle tries to pair her dad up with her teacher. "The Legend of Ranger Joe" in which Joey gets the job as Ranger Joe. "The Volunteer" is the one in which DJ strikes up a friendship with an elderly gentleman at a nursing home. "Gotta Dance" in which Stephanie REALLY wants dance lessons. "Happy Birthday, Babies" Parts 1 and 2 in which Michelle shares her birthday with the birth of the twins. "Play It Again, Jesse" in which Becky returns to work and Jesse plays stay-at-home dad. "Driving Miss DJ" in which DJ gets her learner’s permit. "The Trouble with Danny" is the one in which he gives up his clean image and begins to act dirty and "Girls Will Be Boys" in which Michelle acts like Joey.

And the guest stars this season include Taj Mowry (“Smart Guy”), June Lockhart, David Lascher, Nancy Valen, Whitman Mayo (“Sanford & Son”), Tia Mowry & Tamera Mowry (“Sister, Sister”), Darlene Vogel, Jurnee Smollett (“Cosby”), Miko Hughes, Gail Edwards (recurring as Vicky) and Scott Weinger (recurring as Steve).

Packaging:

The set is slip-sleeve. It's blue and purple in color and features the entire cast (minus Andrea Barber) on the cover. The back of the box features a nice description of the family-friendly series as well as three color photographs. The slip sleeve cases, front and back, list the episodes, and a brief description as well as what disc they are located on. Also featured are several photographs from the episodes themselves.

There are two slip-sleeve cases and each case holds two discs (which are all blue in color). Disc 1 features the three girls and contains episodes 1-7. Disc 2 features Joey and Rebecca and contains episodes 8-14. Disc 3 features Danny and contains episodes 15-20. Disc 4 features Joey and contains episodes 20-26.

Menu Design and Navigation:

The menu opens up right away with the Full House theme-song (shorter version, about 50 seconds) looping in the background. There is a nice picture on the right hand side and on the left are the menu selections. There is "Play" which is the Play All episodes selection. There's an "Episodes" selection, which takes you to a sub-menu that lists the episodes, and then there is "Language Selection" in which you can choose English or Spanish subtitles.

Video and Audio Quality:

The video is in very good condition--bright and crisp colors. The audio itself is also fine. No worries at all. The episodes themselves are uncut, and feature the full theme song. Chapter skips are also available on each episode.

Final Comments:

Another nice release! I really miss the bonus features on sets these days! What's with that? I'm more than certain the cast members would be MORE than willing to record commentary, so why not do that (as far as I know they would probably be willing)? Warner Bros. has so many great television sitcoms and yet they continue to slack off in terms of bonus features. Anyway, it was a good set regardless and I know fans of Full House will definitely be getting it (if they haven't already!). Enjoy!
